Imagine you are about to jump out of a plane while skydiving, your heart pounding ,palms sweaty , and you’re scared but somebody whispers something behind your ear. That person is trying to give you courage, that’s what this essay is about,COURAGE.

The word courage comes from the old French . Courage means to do something that frightens one. Courage is an incredible quality that resides within each of us.Its inner strength that pushes us to face our scariest fears.Courage is about standing up for what we believe. It’s not about the absence of fear, but determination to overcome it. It empowers us to step outside our comfort zone ,embrace our challenges , and pursue our dreams. Whether it’s speaking up for others, taking risks,or facing difficult situations.Courage is what helps us grow and become the best version of ourselves.

Courage is like having a lion’s heart, ready to face anything that comes your way.It means being fearless , even when it’s tough. Its about taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone to pursue your dreams.Building courage can be a challenge sometimes, but it’s possible. One way to build up courage is by facing your fear head on, even if it’s just taking small steps at first.Surrounding yourself with supportive and encouraging people can also make a big difference.   Courage is not the absence of fear , but rather the ability to act in spite.

Courage has shaped me in many ways. Before we got on a plane to come here we were traveling a lot to see family. We lived with my grandparents for an extended period of time. While we were living with them my grandma was in and out of the hospital. She had to get surgery because she had an infection on her leg. She told us that she was tired of doing dialysis and wanted to go be with her dad. When she told us that we were devastated obviously but knew it was for the best. She told us she was gonna die on a Thursday next to her husband watching her soaps. So we were all kinda prepared because her mom, my great grandmother did the exact same thing and was right. The day came and that’s when she passed we called hospice and she was pronounced dead.My cousin was really upset because she basically lived with her.

Her funeral came that day we buried her and that Monday we were on a plane to Italy. I did not want to go deep down. I knew that it was gonna hurt and it did but I knew that my grandma would not let me stay and give up this chase to visit Italy plus I was already on the orders so I had to go. I knew that she would be by my side through  the journey and transition. She gave me courage , my grandma is the reason I am the person I am today. That’s how courage has shaped me.
