Courage means to keep going even if something is hard and being brave. When I show courage I feel like nothing can stop me from reaching my goals. When we lived in Germany, my dad made me ski down a really big slope. I was really scared, but my dad kept encouraging me. I overcame my fear and skied down that huge hill. I felt very courageous and it felt great! When we moved to NC, I had to be very brave because I changed school and had to make new friends. But I did it. My mom shows me how to be courageous by standing up for what for what is right.

Having courage is important because you can overcome your fears. Sometimes you can think you don’t like something, but if you have courage and try you just might find out you like it.  Even when life gets scary, I’m going to continue to have courage, just like my parents. If I ever get really scared, I know my parents will be there to encourage me.
