I think courage is being brave and helps you do things even when you feel sad or nervous. It takes courage to be a military child. It can be scary to start at a new school and make new friends. It takes courage to walk up to new kids and introduce yourself to new people, especially on the first day. Sometimes in the middle of the year, kids or teachers will say something that everyone seems to understand or remember from last year. You need to be courageous and ask for more information to figure out what is going on, even though it may feel silly or embarrassing. It even takes courage to say goodbye and tell your friends what they mean to you when it is time to move. I get more and more courageous as I move through life. Courage is with me wherever I go. It has become a part of me. It never leaves me. I am a courageous military kid.
