she got freedom for me!

When she comes ‘round

I stand tall and free

my ancestors fought for this flag

But when the Earth’s a-changing,

the ground is shaking,

my legs are quaking,

she will hold me upright.

She sacrificed so much for me,

fought hard battles for me,

made new paths to pave,

saw new sights to see.

She stood ever high in her majesty.

 

She gave me freedom, love

and pride in my family.

As one man put it and another man said,
