Courage

When you are born a military kid, courage grows in your blood like a flower blooming. I get to travel the world every few years to find the adventure that awaits.  I have the courage to say “Goodbye” to our friends and family. If I only stayed in my comfort zone, I would never know what else is waiting out there for me.  When I move, I get to unravel the secrets of my new home. I get to discover a whole new path in my life. I have the courage to never ever give up, the courage to try new things and succeed.

When I get to move,  I get to uncover a whole new part of my life and explore. If I never moved, I wouldn’t have tried horse riding. Horse riding is one of the main pieces of my life. Every person has a puzzle, but not everyone has the courage to put it together. Military kids are some of the few people who have the courage to do so. If I didn’t have the courage to put together my puzzle, life would definitely be less thrilling and challenging.

When I moved to North Carolina, I had the courage to uncover a new piece of my puzzle – fencing. If I had not moved, I would have continued doing gymnastics and I never would have uncovered my missing puzzle piece. Most people don’t understand how fencing can help you with many things in life like courage, bravery, competitiveness, confidence, and so much more. I adore fencing, the only reason I ever tried fencing was because I moved and wanted to find something different.

If we had not moved to California, I wouldn’t have found one of my most important puzzle pieces – Rockit. Rockit is my 3 year old miniature schnauzer, with a chocolate brown coat. Every time I come home from school, after a harsh time of having to listen to extremely annoying kids, he is right there waiting for me to come outside and play with him. He loves to jump and play fetch. We also love training to do obstacles courses together.  This is one of the highlights of my day.

I am working on finding more puzzle pieces as I get older and try new things. It’s going pretty well at the moment. My family is getting ready for a big move to Germany and I can’t wait to uncover what is next in my life! Courage will lead the way in many of my future adventures!
