Courage is a big, important part of being a military child. There are many times when we need courage, but we might not always have it. Being a military child isn’t always fun, but we need to have courage to do hard things. Moving and meeting new people is hard, but we need to build up the courage. We don’t always meet good people which can make it not so easy to trust others.
It takes courage to make new friends but it’s always worth it and sometimes it can be hard for us too. Making new friends is good but the hardest part is saying goodbye to them because for us military kids we often move a lot. Therefore, we don’t get to spend a lot of time with them, and it is very hard for us to see them leave or for us to be the ones leaving but we have to have the courage to say bye.
A very important part is going to school because we have to meet new people and we have to try to fit in. Fitting in is very hard for us because we don’t know how to, especially in a new school or environment. Sometimes we meet people that can help us so that helps us build the courage to try very hard things but other times we don’t meet those people. Not meeting the right people is really difficult but sometimes I do meet good people. I have met my bestie who helps me to build courage to do things and I hope everyone does too. For me it’s hard Being a military kid but it’s also fun sometimes.
